INGRAM-WHITE CASTLE FOUNDATION GIVES GROW AWARD

Westerville Area Resource Ministry receives Giving Renews Our World Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) is the recipient of the Ingram- White Castle Foundation’s Giving Renews Our World (GROW) Award this year. The GROW Award recognizes WARM’s service to the community. WARM receives a $100,000 grant to provide support to organizations that demonstrate program effectiveness and measurable results. The grant will be paid out
over the next three years. WARM is a leader in helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency and provides compassionate, short-term
assistance, educational services and spiritual support by providing a helping hand. Over 8,500 volunteer hours were leveraged by WARM this year. The nonprofit organization is a leader in moving toward the choice pantry model to serve its clients more efficiently and reducing waste.

Past GROW Award winners are the Community of Holy Rosary and St. John the Evangelist, the
Homeless Families Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Columbus Metropolitan Library for the homework help centers. Criteria the Ingram-White Castle Foundation considers for recipients is:
• The organizations services are closely related to the Ingram-White Castle Foundation’s mission to provide nourishment to those throughout central Ohio who hunger for knowledge, independence and self-sufficiency.
• The foundation’s emphasis is on efforts that empower young people with the desire for selfimprovement, and full participation in a free society.
• Program has demonstrated effective and measurable community results with a strong track record of success.
• Ingram-White Castle Foundation support is critical to ongoing operations.
• Sources of support for services are limited.

Originally founded as The Edgar W. Ingram Foundation in 1949 by E.W. “Billy” Ingram, founder of White Castle System, Inc., it became a supporting foundation of The Columbus Foundation in 1981. It was renamed the Ingram-White Castle Foundation in 1987. The Ingram family continues to operate the foundation based on the principles set forth by Billy Ingram, which include treating people fairly, investing in the future of others and sharing success with the community.
